What We Do
The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHS) in Wooster, Ohio is a branch of CFAES Safety & Compliance and works directly with The Ohio State University Environmental Health and Safety Office in Columbus, Ohio. The EHS Office assists in providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for faculty, staff, students, vendors, contractors and visitors. We approach safety problems through inspections, recommendations, development of safety programs, development of safety protocols and presentation of safety educational training, and accident investigations. Our objective is the protection of life and property by reducing and controlling incidents involving fires, occupational diseases, hazardous materials, explosions, and/or human error. We also strive to protect the local community and environment from potential hazards generated by Wooster Campus activities and ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
